SUP Offer

When you do Stand Up Paddling, SUP for short, you stand on a board that floats. With the help of a paddle you move forward. A good sense of balance is important in this sport.

Are you looking for a special experience with your friends or colleagues? Then Team-SUP is just right for you! Teamwork is required on the board, because only together you can get the paddleboard going for up to 8 people.

You pick up your paddleboard directly at the Aare in Rubigen. Right underneath the Hunziken bridge you will find the distribution point. The best way to get there is by public transport.

All boards have to be handed in in Bern. You will come ashore at the sunbathing lawn at Camping Eichholz, about 10 minutes after the ferry Bodenacker. We will wait at the parking lot of the campsite and pick up your board and rental equipment. From the campsite it takes about 20 minutes on foot to Bern main station. To the tram station Wabern it is about 10 minutes on foot.

The journey from Rubigen to the Eichholz campsite in Bern takes 1.5 hours. But it can take a little longer sometimes.

One person can stand on each SUP board. (Exception: Team SUP) As the Aare is a fast flowing water, we recommend Stand Up Paddling for participants with some SUP experience. If you have ever done surfing, windsurfing or wakeboarding before, you also bring the right basics with you. Children can also use the boards, but only from the age of 10 years and with at least one adult per child as a companion.

If you rent a SUP board from Aarebootsvermietung, you are naturally renting a complete package. In addition to a suitable SUP board for your size, you get the paddle, a life jacket, a wetsuit and a drybag. Attention: the drybags do not offer space for bulky items. Their waterproofness is not guaranteed – therefore mobile phones and electronic devices should be packed waterproof. The return transport of the boards is included – just like with our boats – from Camping Eichholz in Bern.

Your luggage for your SUP adventure should be small, because there is not much space on the boards. You will need: clothes adapted to the weather and possibly clothes to change. Sun protection and for people who wear glasses we recommend a glasses strap. Also make sure that all electrical equipment in your luggage is packed waterproof.

On the SUP board you do not need any sharp-edged or pointed objects or glass bottles. Smoking is prohibited on the paddleboards.
